Café MorMor is the yellow house, at Undir Heygnum, Tvøroyri, with a café, a sewing shop and a room for accommodation!
The house is from 1890, and most people across the country know them as the house of Mormor - Laurina Voksnæs Hansen - who was from Skagen and married here.
The café is open from May - September. In winter there is not much activity, however we sometimes have the café open and organize concerts and other cultural events every now and then. We announce this on Facebook.
Find us on facebookCafé MorMor strives to serve homemade food from good ingredients. We bake bread and cakes, make soups and other hot food, etc.
Read the menu here! The brand [brikolasj] is about recycling... using what you have on hand!
The sewing room is in the attic of MorMor, and here I – Anna Mortensen – spend a lot of time during the winter designing and producing pillows, bags, skirts, etc. from recycled materials... a good contrast to the summer, when the café requires all the energy.
The products can be purchased in the café.
The newly built annex, which is part of Café MorMor, has a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with toilet/shower and a greenhouse, which is dormant in winter. Here is a peaceful and wonderful view out over the fjord and mountains.
Breakfast is served at the café - homemade bread, freshly squeezed juice with good accompaniments.
From May – September, when the café is open, café guests also use the toilet in the annex (Wednesday – Sunday 11-18, toilet is washed every day at 18).
When the café is closed for the winter, Oct - April, guests are welcome to use the café. There is a well-equipped kitchen and cozy living rooms.
The price for the double room with breakfast for two nights is 1.900 kr.
